About South East Essex EHA

We have some guest Speakers and we also encourage some of our members to give a talk on their own experiences, which has proved very popular.

During this year our chairman helped members to have a go at Dorset Button making, and our group representative ran a morning teaching crochet.  It is good to share our knowledge of various crafts by having Mini Workshops.

If you’d like to find out more about us, our meetings and events, or are interested in joining, please fill out the contact form.

Rosemary Carrington

Our former chairman Rosemary Carrington has recently died after several years of ill health. After leaving school she trained as a window dresser working at first locally and then for the store Lillywhite’s. She rose to become their overall display manager. At one of their events she met her husband Roy who was the carpenter making the display stands.

Throughout her life she had many interests, and here are some of them:- horses, domestic pets, nature, wildlife, gardening, archaeology, local issues and all kind of handicrafts. She had a City and Guilds certificate in embroidery and showed some of her work to us. We were also grateful to her for allowing us to use her large room overlooking the garden for our day workshops.

At her funeral we heard how many people remember her as a good neighbour who helped others and that she was a devoted sister to her brother Roger and his family.
